To reach the starting point of your ascent to the Serre de la Croix, head to Châteauneuf-de-Chabre, a charming emblematic village. Once there, park your car in the village square. You will soon be on the path that will lead you to this magnificent mountain. The departure takes place from the Plan district, and the markings will be your ally throughout your walk. Follow the signs indicating “ Gorges de la Méouge ” and let yourself be carried away by the adventure!

Prepare for a climb that will require a bit of effort. The average slope of this hike is 7%, which amounts to about 588 difficulty points. Don’t be discouraged, the effort is truly worth it! Before embarking on this beautiful adventure, there are a few things to keep in mind. Bring water, energy snacks, and, above all, your sense of humor! The 105 meters of elevation gain will not only work your legs but will also test your hiker jokes. The hike is ideally done in half a day, so choose fair weather to fully enjoy the scenery. Start by taking the path from the village, following the yellow and red markings. Pass by the Pirivigier hill which rises to 801 meters before continuing to the summit of the Serre de la Croix. Once at the top, prepare to be dazzled by the 360-degree panorama that awaits you, a true reward for your efforts!
